While we may be able to figure things out on our own, coaching accelerates your progress. Just as we hire a personal trainer to strengthen our bodies, coaching is about strengthening your mindset and spirit. How is coaching different from talking to a friend or a counsellor?
While friends offer emotional support, coaching goes beyond just listening. Coaching is a professional relationship targeted at empowering and challenging you to grow in ways that casual conversations with friends typically do not. As an ICF-credentialed coach (the gold standard in the coaching world), I provide structured, professional guidance with a clear focus on your goals, elevating you to your next level of possibilities.
Where counselling is concerned, the key difference is that coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented, while counselling often explores past experiences with the aim of resolving emotional pain. Coaching is about personal growth, helping you create a more fulfilling life by focusing on where you are now and where you want to go. If deeper emotional or psychological issues arise, I may suggest you work with a counsellor alongside coaching for comprehensive support.

What happens during a typical coaching session?
During each session, we will collaborate to set a clear coaching objective, uncover your obstacles and develop personalised strategies to help you achieve your objective. This involves a discussion built around your thoughts and responses to my deep, clarifying questions. I will guide you through this process, which often leads to unexpected breakthroughs, and help you to land upon new insights. Each session concludes with a summary of your key takeaways and action steps for you to implement in your daily life.
How many sessions will I need and do you offer virtual sessions?
The number of sessions depends on the goals you want to achieve, the areas you wish to focus on, and the pace at which you're comfortable progressing. Some clients find value in just three sessions to address specific challenges or gain clarity on a particular issue, while others benefit from a longer-term coaching relationship spanning several months. Five or more sessions allow for deeper exploration, long-term transformation, and sustained support to make meaningful progress.
